Antiques & Fine Art Gallery

Scroll down to see our great show of Abstract paintings by the recently rediscovered artist Joseph Grippi (1924-2003). Mr. Grippi was in his time a pupil of Hans Hofmann, then Stuart Davis, but perhaps was better known as Jackson Pollack's framer, and finally as the owner of the legendary Gallery G in New York City where he represented many of the finest artists of the second half of the 20th Century and at one point he was the print maker for Pop Artist Andy Warhol climaxing with the Cantaloupe series of 1977 (click here see One and Two from that print run). After he died in 2004 many of the canvases and paintings under glass inventoried and put into storage by his son. This is the first time they have ever been exhibited as a coherent body of work. Scroll down and enjoy, as the show will be going up in late February of 2009.
